Key Responsibilities

  • Build Support Equipment
  • Maintain and Refurbish In-line Pipeline Inspection Tools
  • Program and load Firmware onto populated circuit boards
  • Use BOM’s to order and organize parts for PCB builds
  • Test, Troubleshoot, and Repair damaged wires, cables, circuit boards, and individual components
  • Solder and de-solder small SMD components
  • Work with field/shop personnel to diagnose and fix pipeline tool issues
  • Use proprietary software
  • Read and Interpret schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Other tasks as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Electronics Technician certification or Equivalent (preferred 1-2 yrs)
  • Understanding of electronic theory and troubleshooting (1-2 yrs)
  • Experience in SMD soldering and rework (willing to train)
  • Understanding electronic schematic and symbols (1-2 yrs)
  • Able to follow wiring diagram (1-2 yrs)

Skills and Qualities Required

  • Basic knowledge of electronics and troubleshooting techniques
  • Capable of lifting up to 50lbs (at times)
  • Willingness to learn new skills and take on more responsibility
  • Strong computer skills, with ability to work with proprietary software
  • Ability to complete tasks fully in a timely manner with high quality output
  • Capability of maintaining poise, quality of work and efficiency during busy times
  • Skilled at evaluating and prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks
  • Capacity to maintain concentration over long periods of time
  • Team player, who excels at communicating with co-workers
  • Communicate efficiency with supervisor with updates
  • Able to think independently

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

  • Electronics Technician: 1 year (preferred)
  • interpreting electronics symbols and schematics: 1 year (preferred)
  • SMD soldering: 1 year (preferred)
  • understanding electronic theory and troubleshooting: 1 year (preferred)
